Job Title: Director Store Learning & Development – PPD Brands

Division: Professional Products Division (PPD)

Location: Candidates may be located anywhere in the USA with the exception of:  Montana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Kentucky, Alaska, Hawaii

What You Will Do:

The Director of Store Learning & Development is responsible for the strategy and planning of SalonCentric Store L & D programs specific to PPD Brands. These programs include, but are not limited to, e-learning modules as it pertains to Brand Portfolios, Brand Launches and Beauty Guru training/education, specialized SalonCentric trainings, the creation and execution of the Monthly Store Planners, social media content review and analytics specific to Beauty Guru and Brand artist PPD engagement. The Director will support the PPD Store Learning & Development team by providing clear vision, strategy, and execution direction to effectively support their respective PPD Brands and SalonCentric Stores. The Director is responsible for collaborating with the PPD Store Education, Sales, and Business Development teams, PPD Brand Education, Training, and Marketing Teams as well as SalonCentric Learning & Development to ensure the appropriate programs are created and executed to properly support our internal PPD Store and SalonCentric teams as well as our stylist community. The Director will work closely with the partners mentioned above to ensure the Brand initiatives are represented from an education and team development perspective. The Director will be the main point of contact for the Brand Teams and SC Learning & Development regarding these programs and owns the planning and execution in its entirety.

Responsibilities:

  • Development and management of the Learning & Development team supporting all PPD brands nationally through the delivery of content and trainings that develop employees’ skills and knowledge as it pertains to PPD Brands
  • Development, planning and execution of the SalonCentric stylist facing in-store training programs and specialized trainings & events by TDM territory in partnership with PPD Store Sales and Business Development team members
  • Development and implementation of training programs in partnership with PPD Sales Team, Brand Teams and SalonCentric L & D to support SC Store Team Member development
  • Creation/Enhancement of store tools and resources in partnership with Sales Team, assessing the Store Training needs including but not limited to Beauty Gurus and Store Teams through Beauty University/ SalonCentric Digital Learning Platform

·         Develop and implement trainings/classes based on Brand initiatives, business needs, and our internal Store Team needs to achieve sales plans

·         Partner with PPD Sales and SC L&D to standardize Onboarding for new team members ( Immersions, digital learning)

What We Are Looking For:

Required Qualifications:

  • An undergraduate degree or commensurate professional experience is required

·         7+ years of experience leading, managing, training and motivating teams and high volume of business with diverse skill sets in a remote setting with a demonstrated ability to communicate vision and execute strategy

·         Extensive experience in learning & development within a big box retail and/or chain model, preferably with beauty, professional salon products or retail background.

·         Create a work environment which is open, honest, collaborative and accountable through clear, consistent communication that is inclusive and influences teams and partners.  Values the differences and similarities of people.  Promotes a spirit of cooperation and shared responsibility by emphasizing that the efforts of work groups must be aligned with common goals to achieve desired results.

·         Demonstrated ability to proactively identify and respond to business changes and the competitive landscape within their region. Readily shifts roles and priorities to meet these changes and gain market share.

·         Works collaboratively with both internal and external clients.  Treating them with respect, anticipating their needs, and providing solutions when needed. Establishes and builds trust across business functions, levels and departments to facilitate achievement of shared goals.

·         Ability and interest in extensive travel (up to 35%) and work weekends as needed

·         Proficiency in applications including Power Point, Excel, Word, Articulate Rise or similar platform

Preferred Qualifications:

·         5-year experience in Professional Beauty Industry

·         3-5 years Learning & Development experience

·         Bachelor’s Degree preferable

·         Cosmetology license preferred

  • Salary Range: Zone 1: $128,100 - $182, 500 Zone 2: $117,400 - $167,300 Zone 3: $106,700 - $152,100

(The actual compensation will depend on a variety of job-related factors which may include geographic location, work experience, education, and skill level)
