Job Title Director, Development Integration – Skinbetter Science

Division: Active Cosmetics / L’Oreal Dermatological Brands

Location: This position will report out of the Hub in Clark, NJ with expectation to move to L'Oreal West Coast in El Segundo, CA within 12-24 months 

Reports To: VP Operations Integration / AVP US Development - ACD

What You Will Do:

Development – Integration  

  • Accountable for L’Oreal process implementation for the brand
    • Gap analysis on existing practices for Launch Development
    • Roadmap to close gaps
    • Alignment with management on prioritization
  • Existing launch panier oversight
    • “Off system” launch management during transition phase of integration
      • Ensure launch timeline is accurate and acceptable
      • Start to implement processes for PVISe and Gross Margin Management
      • MOQ (AC and FG) alignment to L’Oreal norms
    • Work with OMA, Sourcing, PKG to ensure existing and new launches are transitioned to fully compliant ways of working including Full Buy, Specs, etc.
  • Liaison with R&I to track formula officialization progress of new and existing catalogue
    • Reformulations, Compliance and Renovations
  • Possible label/legal/artwork changes as part of acquisition:
    • Build tracker and lead workstream to transition any acquisition related changes to artwork for legal or claims reasons
    • Prepare / align artwork changes for International roll-out including CSAR regulation for China
  • People integration
    • Build training plan and execute training for ways of working for Brand, R&I, and Operations Stakeholders
    • Foster collaboration and cooperation with existing team to balance adoption of L’Oreal norms with the DNA of the brand

 Development – Launch/Portfolio Management (Traditional)  

Manage package development and project management activities to assure timely and cost-effective new product launches, promotions, and maintenance of basic business activities. Active participation in identifying new and improved processes that will result in effective cost reduction / harmonization programs for new or existing products. In assigned project category leads package innovation.

  • Research and develop packaging components
  • Provide direction to test and evaluate packaging components.
  • Meeting coordination, minutes & follow-ups
  • Guide Marketing in new product brief creation
  • Communication Link (between the Division & Industrial teams)
  • Project Development Timeline preparation and tracking
  • Manage projects through QCP (all aspects)
  • Feasibility Costs and COG analysis
  • Risk Analysis coordination & communication
  • Aesthetic/Color Approvals with Marketing
  • Value Analysis leader
  • Research and Development coordination
  • Manage project work as necessary or required
  • Interface with all manufacturing management and associated or related functional areas
  • Develop and maintain a professional knowledge of new or emerging trends within the PD discipline
  • Perform other duties as necessary or required


What We Are Looking For:

  • 7+ years of experience in proven package development project work/quality experience, preferably in the cosmetics, consumer goods or related field
  • French Language skill is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering or a related technical discipline a plus
  • Travel to vendors and plants will be a requirement (10-15% of time)
  • Proficient PC skills - Proficient in the use of MS Project. MS Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint) and capable of building presentations in Excel and/or PowerPoint. 
  • High Proficiency in communication skills (written & verbal), to be able to deal effectively with all levels of our organization AND our suppliers organizations.
  • Good organizational skills to manage the documentation, materials, and information as needed on each project.
  • Assume Leadership role of Brand Development team and special projects as needed.
  • Develop and maintain a professional knowledge of new or emerging trends and technologies.
  • Must be team oriented and able to create strong relationships with all cross-functional teams
