(Sr.) Patent Manager- L'Oréal Research & Innovation

In the department of General Management, we are looking for a manager.

As a manager, your main responsibilities are :

Advise the Group for any Pudong matters in connection with patent protection, right to market and defense of our patented territories from third parties.
Drive L'Oréal China patent strategies from Pudong labs, in particular design strategic patent filing plans for the core technologies.
Drive the construction of IP strategies in Scalp domain, act as IP leader of the domain. Coordinate with other members of worldwide IP team (DIPI) in other Hubs, working on related projects of the Domain
Ensure the implementation of Group’s IP strategy in China.
Manage and contribute to the portfolio management for all inventions from China.
Supervise handling of patent disputes.
Monitor the competitors’ environment.
Develop and manage a team including patent searching resources
Share knowledge and expertise in patents, including Chinese practice, with the DIPI team .
Support to legal R&I/BD : review the IP clauses in contracts with third parties
Build a strong and active communication in the IP world in China
You are :

BS in Chemistry, Material Sciences, Chemical Engineering or similar degree with 7-10 years’ experience in patent counseling, including drafting patent applications and prosecution applications in the Patent Office. Advanced degrees preferred.
Experienced in providing legal opinions (patentability and right to market)Experienced in drafting and prosecuting patent applications
Experience in working across teams (science, legal, business)
Experience in working in a multinational and multicultural environment and willingness to learn, adapt, and cooperate
Practice before the Patent Office is preferred
Good written and oral communication skills
Good language skills in English
Good analytical skills
Ability to take decisions and implement strategies
Background in consumer products, packs and devices a plus
Background as in-house patent attorney for consumer products, packs and devices is a plus
